Little Wings of Mozart – 49 Early Mozart Pieces
49 Early Mozart Pieces for Two Flutes
Follow Mozart’s Musical Growth from Ages Five to Eight • Instant PDF Download
Little Wings of Mozart brings together 49 of Mozart’s earliest works in a practical duet collection for two flutes.
Beginning with the tiny childhood pieces K.1–K.5 and continuing through the London Sketchbook K.15a–K.15qq, the collection lets players follow the young Mozart as his musical language gradually becomes richer, more confident, and more varied.
Rather than presenting these pieces only as historical curiosities, this edition turns them into playable duets — allowing students, teachers, and flute players to experience Mozart’s early development through ensemble playing.
Follow Mozart’s First Musical Steps
The earliest pieces are remarkably short and simple. As the collection progresses, new rhythms, forms, harmonies, and musical ideas begin to appear.
Played in sequence, the 49 pieces offer a fascinating glimpse into the development of Mozart’s musical imagination and the foundations of the Classical style.
For students, this makes the collection more than a set of easy pieces: it becomes a musical journey through the early language of one of history’s greatest composers.
About the Arrangement
Each piece has been arranged in a clear and practical two-part texture.
The original musical material is preserved while the second part provides harmony, support, and ensemble interaction. Keys and ranges have been adjusted where necessary to make the music comfortable for flute duet performance.
The written range is generally from low C to third-octave F, and key signatures are limited to no more than three sharps or three flats.
The collection is designed primarily for two flutes, but may also be suitable for other same-key treble melody instruments.
